Dr. Russell Charno has been in private practice since 1987. Prior to moving to the Hudson Valley and joining Izlind, and over the course of 25+ years, he ran two successful chiropractic offices: one in Queens, NY, and the other in Sea Cliff, Long Island. Inspired by innovations in rehabilitative medicine that were developed by a group of practitioners in Eastern Europe, Dr. Charno completed certification in 2011 by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. Since that time, he has continued his advanced training in functional movement assessment, rehabilitation, and soft tissue treatment techniques such as FAKTR, and Graston Technique® (instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation). He is also an active member of Rehabilitation to Performance (R2P), a community of change-makers with a shared goal of solving the burgeoning health care crisis associated with the widespread physical inactivity epidemic. Dr. Charno uses an integrative approach that combines chiropractic care with functional movement assessments, exercise rehabilitation, soft tissue modalities, functional taping, yoga-centered rehabilitation, nutrition, meditation, and stress management to help patients heal from injuries and experience their full potential for vitality and vibrant health. He specializes in applying innovative assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation protocols to treat difficult to manage chronic conditions. He is also the co-founder of BodyMindSessions, a streaming website for guided meditation and mindfulness programs.
